Domestic law measures for PFAS do not correspond to the comprehensive regulation of PFAS under the REACH regulation. In anticipation of the REACH regulation, cleaning agents will be made free of PFAS.
The REACH regulation functions as a condition for transactions with companies within the EU, rather than simply determining "whether it can be complied with or not." Measures against PFAS are important not only for collection and wastewater treatment but also for reviewing the use of chemicals in processes to eliminate PFAS, based on the premise of continued use and the possibility of alternatives.
